Here are some more information for Truck Exhaust:

Asthma is chronic condition in which the airways and lining of the lungs become inflamed and irritated. This condition can and does affect millions of people around the world. There are two main contributors to asthma attacks when outside the house. The first one is pollen and it happens every year at the same time for allergy suffers. The second is air pollution and it can be a far worse trigger than anything else that affects people with asthma. Our air quality is very important to the way you and I want to live our lives.
Every day our air gets more and more polluted. Factories that produce the things we take for granted are producing pollution by the ton. The cars and trucks that we use every day are adding to the pollution. Take diesel truck exhaust for example. The soot and ash from just one truck has the potential to be deadly. The dark black smoke that comes out the back of these trucks has 4o known toxins in it and 3 known carcinogens. Carcinogens for those who don't know are the things we know to be linked to cause Cancer. The amount of vehicles on the road including trucks is ever increasing.
When doctors were doing studies to find out what size of particulate would be best to reach down into the bottom part of the lungs, they found the perfect size was 2.5 microns. The asthma inhalers were then made to produce a mist particle size that was 2.5 microns. The medications being used at 2.5 microns could then get all the way to the bottom of the lungs. The medications can't do their job of opening up the airways, if they can't get all the way into the lungs. The size of 2.5 microns is important because the study of the smoke from diesel exhaust is also 2.5 microns as well. Every diesel truck is like a giant asthma inhaler putting soot from the smoke straight down to the bottom parts of all our lungs. I find that to be a very scary thought! Humans breathe in about 35 pounds of air each day. That air can have a lot of pollution in it.
Scientists have shown that cars, factories and power plants are a major cause of asthma. Over half of the nation lives in areas where the air is getting worse. A 2002 study reported that over 30 percent of childhood asthma is due to environmental exposure. The study also suggested that air pollution may contribute to healthy people coming down with asthma or asthma symptoms. Air pollution plays a well documented roll in asthma attacks. Asthma is the nation's fastest growing chronic disease, affecting more than 22 million Americans. Asthma rates have more than doubled in children under the age of 4 in the past 20 years. Once someone has been diagnosed with asthma, factors like dirty air can trigger an asthma attack that can lead to death. Smog and soot from diesels can worsen and trigger asthma attacks. There is some evidence that smog and soot may even cause asthma itself in some people. Other research has shown that the tiny particles in diesel exhaust may increase a person's sensitivity to pollen, dust mites and other allergens.
There are ways to minimize the threat of air born pollutants. One way is to move to an area where there are more trees and shrubs. Make sure to avoid areas of heavy industrial companies. If you live in areas where there is more than ideal traffic, you should avoid going out when air quality is poor. No one can say when the world will stop burning fossil fuels and try to reverse the damage we have already done. All we can do is conserve the fuels we have and start investing in more renewable energies.

Accessorizing your Pick Up Truck the Way you Want it
Man by nature has no contentment in life. After buying a certain thing, the want for more or for something better arises. It is already innate; something which is expected. Say, seven days after purchasing a pick up truck, you might want to change its appearance the way it would satisfy you. Thus, accessorizing it comes in to your mind.
No matter what the style of your pickup truck is, chances are you would want to change it from the way it was manufactured. Whatever is the use your vehicle, be it for work, party, hang outs or for off-road plays, you can always accessorize it the way it suits your personality. Performance parts, accessories and customization products are always available to make your pickup truck unique. You can buy them either in your favorite car stores or via the internet.
Styling the Exterior
In the automobile market are several types of exterior pickup truck accessories that would facelift the appearance of the outside of your truck. They include air dams, bras and masks, bug shields, bumpers, fender flares, graphics and emblems, grille guards, hood ornaments, hoods and scoops, mirrors, racks and cargo accessories, roll pans, running boards, splash guards, tool boxes, truck steps, tire covers, visors, wings and spoilers and wiper cowls. Select items that will best complement your truck's basic lines and that will work well together instead of looking cluttered.
The use of a bug shield is a great new way to protect your hood from insects and other types of messy or damaging debris. A Stainless Steel truck bug shield uses brilliant stainless steel to brighten up and protect your hood.
Styling the Interior
Changing the appearance of your pick up truck’s interior is all about improving the comfort level when riding in your vehicle. Some examples of accessories that can help are 12 volt accessories, cargo trays and liners, consoles and racks, dash covers and trim, door accessories, floor mats, horns, instrument panel covers, pet accessories, seat covers, seats and steering wheel covers.
You can also augment some electronic devices to facilitate comfort. Choices include CBs and scanners, cruise controls, GMRS radio, GPS and navigation systems, power inverters, radar and laser detectors, remote starters, security systems, and antennas. You can also upgrade the standard radio that came with your truck upon purchasing it to a stereo CD or satellite radio system.
Making the Load Good and Improving the Ride
There are still more accessories that can add to the enhancement of your truck. For your truck bed, you can add cargo control, bed mats, bed liners, bed protection, bed rails, tailgate accessories and tonneau covers. Also added to your options are towing accessories like hitch balls, hitch mounts, hitch covers, hitch steps, hitch wiring, hitches, tow hooks and straps, towing mirrors, winch accessories, winches and winch mounting systems.
By improving your pickup's suspension and brakes you make the ride both smoother and safer. To achieve this, you are going to need anti-sway bars, bars and arms, bushings and shackles, hubs, lift kits, lowering kits, shocks and struts, skit plates and trusses, and springs. Adding more lighting does not only improve your vehicle’s appearance. It also improves safety. Some typical lighting pickup truck accessories include accent lighting, auxiliary lighting, back-up lights, bulbs and lamps, driving and fog lights, headlights, interior lights, light bars, light covers, light guards, marker lights, neon lighting, spotlights, taillights, tow lighting and wiring, turn signal lights and warning lights.
Considering electrical and exhaust systems essentials
No matter how good your truck looks, it will be tantamount to zero if your pick up truck does not start. If you have got this problem or fear it might happen, try buying alternator accessories, battery accessories, battery chargers, chassis wiring or jump start systems. If the problem is on the exhaust end, you might need catalytic converters, exhaust systems, exhaust tips and extensions, headers or mufflers.
If you want to do all these things by yourself, you will need some tools and equipment. Useful items include tire pressure gauges, car care products, computer software, creepers and seats, diagnostic equipment, engine hoists and stands, garage and parking accessories, jacks, stands, ramps, paint, sanding materials and abrasives.
Now, your truck is finally enhanced just the way you wanted.

Can truck exhaust outside set off a carbon monoxide/explosive gas detector inside?
My alarm went off one morning. The fire department found nothing, but there was a truck idling in the lot next to my apartment. When the truck pulled away, the alarm stopped but the firemen told me that wouldn't have caused it. He did suggest that if I sprayed perfume, that might have caused it, but that sounded a little silly to me.
I'd definitely suggest it was the truck exhaust.
Although there is nothing explosive in exhaust, the carbon monoxide could well have triggered it.
Alarm systems are notoriously (at least within fire services) sensitive - and take very little to set off. I've been to alarm activations set off by bathroom steam, a kettle, damp air (I'm not joking - damp air can trigger them), even someone blowing cigarette smoke into an air conditioner.
I'd suggest it's most likely the trucks carbon monoxide set it off though - also given that many modern detectors are wired so as they don't just pick up smoke but often the other by-products of a fire (such as carbon monoxide).
