Tips on keeping tea in a stainless steel thermos hot overnight?

I'm off on holiday and I hate having to get up first thing, throw on clothes over my nightwear and go up and get a cup of tea. If I don't get my tea the minute I wake up I'm grumpy all day. lol

I bought a stainless steel thermos and I've been trying it. Last night I put black tea in it after putting boiling water in the thermos first to heat it up, then put in an insulated bag. It still wasn't hot this morning.

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the tea a bit hotter?

Some thermoses are better than others.

It sound like you're doing everything right, but you can modify it a little.

Add hot water to a cold thermos & you end up with a warm thermos. Add boiling water to the thermos and wait 10 minutes for the air chamber to warm up some. You may have to repeat it a few time (each time the air will warm up more) and give it about 10 minutes each time.

Black tea should be brewed near boiling, but it will drop in temperature during brewing (I use a pre-heated cast iron pot to maintain the temp). You need to get the thermos as hot as possible to make up for the temp lost in brewing.
