As a prototype the Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic was named the Aerolithe (from the Greek meaning meterorite). Totally unique and a breakaway from the racing and sports cars this touring car has become one of the most prestigious collectors' cars. World famous fashion designer Ralph Lauren boasts a fully authentically restored model as the pride of his collection.

The 57SC Atlantic was a development of the Type 57 which in itself was largely designed by Jean Bugatti, the 23 year old son of Ettore Bugatti. The refinements to engine, suspension, road handling and efficient braking made these models remarkable. Visually, the most characteristic feature of the 57 SC Atlantic are the 'kidney shaped' side windows, the split rear window and the first fins ever seen on a car. It is the riveted flange design that gives rise to the fins along the center of the body and mudguards.

The "S" stands for 'sousbaisse', the French word for lower or underslung while the "C" is for "compresseur" meaning blower or supercharger. These two features allowed the tuned car to reach 200 km/h. Low to the ground and with its 200 bhp engine, lightweight construction, 123 mph (200 kph) top speed and aerodynamic teardrop body, many believe this is the ultimate Bugatti.

The original prototype,the Electron Aerolithe Prototype, made its debut at the 1935 Paris Motor Show. The first production models appeared two years later.

Jean Bugatti's aim was to design the ultimate high-speed grand touring car. The concept was for the body to be built from Electron, an aluminum-magnesium alloy, which although it was light it was difficult to work with compared to the conventional materials.

The first Atlantic built was in February 1936 and was sold to Lord Phillipe de Rothschild who later sold it to Dr. Peter Williamson for the handsome sum of $59,000 in 1971. Ralph Lauren's 57SC was authentically restored by Paul Russell of Essex, Massachusetts and was recently shown in Europe for the first time in 18 years.

dererestricting a rieju smx 50fr exhaust pipe?

i have a rieju smx 50fr and it is very slow, i have tried to derestrict the exhaust but there is no washer stopping airflow... but there is an extra pipe coming from the manifold where the air is put back into the system.. how could i deresrict this? does blocking the airflow into the extra pipe derestrict it?
