Cheap car parts online or locally - Shop around then always ask for a trade price
Now let me guess You are looking for a part to repair your car because it has to pass an MOT test. Well you are not alone, most of us try to keep the car in good nick throughout the year but come the test we have to satisfy the examiner that it is roadworthy and not making an unreasonably high contribution to global warming!
Nowadays the test is high tech and exhaust emissions have to be within the specification for your car. Clean air filters can help with this and are easy and economical to replace.
The main aim of this blog is to help you save money and stay safe. So my First cardinal rule is 'Always ask for a trade price' Remember if the seller wants your business he will most likely give you a discount. At worst the answer will be 'full price' but you will be surprised how much you can save. Give it a Go!
We all want cheap car parts and by that I mean we want best value for money. And depending on your budget you'll want to go for the best deal in your circumstances. If the car has limited life left you won't want a gold-plated part for it.
Cheap car parts are available online, at your main dealers, at motor factors, or at your local breaker's yard.
Now how can you save on the kinds of items tested in the MOT? The parts you may need will be light bulbs, brakes, suspension, tyres, windscreen and wipers, seat belts, exhaust, mirrors, and vital fluids (eg brake fluid, windscreen washer, engine coolant) And You can buy them from the kinds of Motor Factors listed below
My Second cardinal rule is Shop around. Here in my hometown we have (in alphabetical order) the following motor factors Bennetts, Eastern Autospares, Eurocarparts, Exhausts Unlimited, GSF, Halfords, Jayar, Motorparts direct and Wilco to name just some. And they most likely will ask quite different prices for the same parts.
Like I said the main aim of this blog is to help you save money and stay safe. One startling way you can do this is to take your car for MOT at a Council run MOT centre. This is what Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis has to say
It's not the test fee but repairing the "fails" that usually costs a fortune. Yet little known council run MOT centres don't do repairs, so there's no vested interest to fail you and thousands report a massive difference.
Tyres and tread, windscreens, wipers, seat belts, exhausts, number plate*, mirrors, fuel cap and fluids topped up (brake fluid, windscreen washer, engine coolant) Check 'em all yourself or with a competent, reasonably priced mechanic then look and see if you can take advantage of the Council-run test centre.
(*Number plate must be present, secure, not faded, dirty or obscured, be composed with correctly formed letters and spacing.)

Fuel Efficiency In The 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee
With skyrocketing fuel costs, fuel efficiency is an important aspect of any new vehicle. Many sports ulitly vehicles offer comfort, hauling capability, and size, but are poor on fuel economy.
The 2010 Jeep Grande Cherokee is ranked number 15 out of 27 when compared against other affordable mid-size sports utility vehicles. The new 2010 model is equipped with an exhaust- gas recirculation valve that improves fuel efficiency.
Although the Cherokee has been awarded with numerous accolades, fuel efficiency is somewhat lower than other mid-size SUVS. However, when compared to other off- road only vehicles, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is slightly better than average and even ranks in the category of good.
Although fuel economy does fluctuate based on driver variations as well as driving conditions, one can expect to get about 15 to 16 miles to the gallon when driving in the city and about 20 to 21 miles per gallon highway. These averages can differ when the car is driven harder or at higher speeds than usual. This is comparable, but less than other affordable mid -size SUVs in its class that are not off-roading cars.
On the other hand, when compared to other off-roading vehicles, the Jeep ranks slightly higher than the popular Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder and the Chevy Trailblazer. In addition, the Jeep offers a better ride as well as handling.
The 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers excellent handling, comfort, and luxury. Although fuel efficiency is not poor, it is lower than most sports utility vehicles. However, if you are searching for an off-road only truck, the Jeep Cherokee does offer better fuel economy that most of its reputable counterparts.

1995 Ford Explorer Exhaust Question?
Is It True You Can Cut Your Exhaust Down To Make It Louder ? If So How Is It Done ?
I would leave this to the pros, depending on you local emission laws I wouldn't cut anything out until you find out what they are. Some states have them some don't.
