The Cobb down-pipe comes in two version. The Street, and Race version. The Street version begins with a cast bell mouth section that creates exhaust gasses to flow smoothly through 3 inch mandrel bent stainless steel piping into a state-of-the-art metallic catalytic converter. The catalytic converter flow so well they pose virtually no HP reduction on most street cars. The Race version does not include any catalytic converter at all. This system replaces both the stock down-pipe section and final catalytic converter section. Also comes with an auxiliary O2 sensor bung located near the turbo in a position that's easy to reach from the engine compartment for wide-band O2 sensor use during tuning sessions. All flanges, hangers, O2 sensor bungs, casting and piping are constructed 100% from 304SS.

What is the difference between Carbon Fiber/Stainless Steel exhausts?

I'm planning on getting a new exhaust for my Ninja 250R bike and had a choice between Stainless Steel or Carbon Fiber. The Carbon Fiber is a little more expensive. What would be the differences between these two, and which would you recommend?

There is no performance difference at all. The carbon is lighter as well as being more expensive. The SS is much more durable. It all depends on what you want. The carbon probably looks better and is lighter, the SS is cheaper and more durable. You could go Titanium which is light and durable, but priced somewhere around the carbon price.
