Here are some more information for Exhaust Down Pipe:

Harley Davidson motorcycles have enjoyed a steadily growing customer base for the last 20 years and have become one of the most popular motorcycles around. I would expect this trend only to continue as the Boomers retire and look for new ways to both entertain them and spend their accumulated wealth.
The first thing that most new Harley Davidson owners do is head out in search of that famous Harley Davidson "sound." You know what I mean, nothing sounds as good as a nicely piped Harley Davidson purring down the road. The right pipe can turn heads from all directions so you want to make sure you get the right pipe that will suit your needs.
Like most motorcycle owners you want your pipes to look good, sound good and perform good. I have found a set of pipes that does that nicely and that is the Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggered pipes. Vance and Hines made their name in the superbike world but they have become a dominant player in both the Harley Davidson world and the "cruiser" bike market in general.
I have installed a number of Vance and Hines Harley Pipes on various bikes with the most recent being on my 2007 Harley Davidson FXSTB. The Vance and Hines pipes installed very easily and fit the bike well. The heat shields run a full 230 degrees around the pipe and will virtually guarantee that the pipes will give a lustrous chrome shine for many years to come.
The fit and finish of the pipes is great and the sound is awesome. These pipes are not for the faint hearted and if you want that awesome Harley Davidson sound then the Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggered pipes will deliver you an awesome exhaust note. I will say that they are one of the louder Harley Davidson pipes out there so you may want to find someone with a set already installed on their bike that you could listen to. If you crave that deep Harley thunder then these are the pipes for you.
If you want to find a great deal on a set of Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggered pipes or maybe check out some other brands of Harley Davidson pipes then check out the links. You can save a TON of money on your Harley pipes by shopping around.
Exhaust Wrap Performance Benefits
With modern day performance vehicles, engines can produce a significant amount of engine heat. These extreme temperatures can diminish total performance and potentially cause exterior engine components to fail prematurely. Thankfully, there are exhaust wrap products available which may reduce engine compartment temperatures by more then fifty percent.
Exhaust wrap rolls are not new to the automotive industry. For quite a while, these wraps have been manufactured out of glass fiber and were commonly stocked on auto part store shelves. However, new designs in wrap technology have been brought to the market that offers superior heat protection when compared to the old style glass fiber wrap rolls. These days the best performing wraps are made from pulverized lava and offer a thermal rating of approximately 500 degrees above those designed with glass fiber.
Applying exhaust wrap rolls is a very easy process which most vehicle owners can handle themselves. The exhaust manifold pipes are simply wrapped with 1/4" overlaps. The start and stop point of each wrap must be fastened with a special rated high-temp stainless steel clamp. This will prevent the wrap from coming apart.
In most cases it is simpler to install the wrap with the vehicle safely raised off the ground. Because glass fiber exhaust wraps are stiff, many installers find that first wetting the wrap makes it much easier to shape to hard curves. Pulverized lava rock wraps are very flexible and usually can be quickly installed directly out of the package without being wet.
Old style glass fiber wrap rolls must have a finished coating of high temperature silicone spray sprayed on them. This protects the installed wrap from dirt and the grease that is normally found in engine compartments. Exhaust wraps produced from pulverized lava rock do not need any exterior protective coating sprayed on the installed wrap. Pulverized lava naturally repels most debris.
In the performance automotive industry, many vehicle owners have shifted towards exhaust wrap products manufactured from pulverized lava rock. Not only does pulverized lava provide greater thermal protection, but it is also much easier to install. And for less than $100, many vehicle owners can obtain the additional benefits of improved horsepower and external engine part protection.
About the Author
There is some kind of black soot coming out my exhaust pipe?
most of it is right after I start it, but it still comes out a bit when its running. Its really black so can I assume its oil and not fuel? Any suggestions? Are there any additives that might work to slow this down? What does it mean when this happens?
to all other answerers. BLACK smoke is always fuel. BLUE is oil. WHITE is coolant. if you have done any mechanic work for any amount of time you should know this. Black smoke is caused by the fuel mixture being too rich. could have a clogged air filter to worn out injectors or a carb that the float has stuck on. those are some things to check but what ever the ailment it is too much fuel or not enough air is getting in
I give you a thumbs up Joel A for being the only other one to know this.
Relief well timing depends on oil's spread through multiple rings in original well pipe
Expect relief well to intercept existing well pipe within 10 days. If they have to deal with oil in all rings it may take until mid-August, weather permitting.
