From it's beginnings in 1990, the Mitsubishi Eclipse has been a fun car. Many young people are attracted to the fun design of this little sports coupe. While the car has done quite well for Mitsubishi dealerships across the United States, the car is quite popular as a used car as well.

The car was named after a racehorse from the eighteenth century that won an astounding 26 races in one year. Like its namesake, the sports car has eclipsed many other cars in its class.

Because of an alliance between Mitsubishi and Chrysler, the Eclipse was not the only sports coupe with this design that was released at this time. Though most do not realize it, the Mitsubishi Eclipse is not an only child. A close look at two other automobiles will reveal that the car has relatives or twins is more likely the case. The twins are known to most as the Eagle Talon and the Plymouth Laser. Slight design changes and a much more aggressive advertising campaign led the Mitsubishi Eclipse to the top of the pact. Not surprisingly all three of the vehicles were produced in the same plant.

There are Mitsubishi car clubs in most states and the central theme seems to be added an assortment of aftermarket parts to achieve interesting and unique results. Car kits can be purchased for just about every enhancement imaginable for these little cars. From distinctive ground effects to unusual spoiler designs, the sky seems to be the limit for changing the looks of the car.

These aftermarket car kits are fairly easy to come by but some novices may have difficulty installing them if a screwdriver is a new instrument to them. However, on the good side of this there are many Mitsubishi Eclipse forums out there and most of the time they appear to be quite helpful. The sites themselves appear to be run by Eclipse owners who are bound to have plenty of advice to give on what to buy and how to do it.

There is some debate on which year was the Mitsubishi Eclipse's best year. 1996 saw a major body style change and some feel that this was not in keeping with the traditional look of the Eclipse. The numbers definitely agree with this opinion as 1996 saw a definite slip in sales. Many linked this drop in sales directly with the body style change. Most complaints centered around the shorter and thicker body that was given to the 1996 Eclipse. This was a definite departure from the long lines and curvaceous body that the previous year models had carried. Where this was, the reason is still a matter of debate; however, the designers at Mitsubishi must have felt this was a possibility because by the year 2000, the longer look of the early nineties returned.

The sports car appears to have a sound following and one can expect this cute little sports car will continue to be a popular one for a while.

How Dragons Have Touched Our Lives

Dragons have been a meaningful element of our culture since around 4000 and 5000 BC. From stories to architecture to collectibles, dragons are supernatural animals that may or may not have roamed the earth in reality but have left massive footprints in our sensibility.

These fantastic reptilian/serpentine animals are seen in numerous different cultures, and each of those dragons is as different as the culture itself. These creatures are thought to dwell everywhere from the depths of the ocean to the center of the earth. Some have wings, some dont. Some have many legs, some have four. Some have nine heads, others have one. Some have five claws, most have a smaller amount. Some are friends and others are fiends. All are a signof amazing strength and power.

Scientific studies put forward that the Tiamat, a goddess that personifies the sea, in ancient Babylonian and Assyrian text is the first allusion to the existence of dragons. Historians, however, can't substantiate whether or not Tiamat was the same sort of creature as what we refer to as a dragon. Consequently, the history of dragon can not be with assurance linked to Tiamet.

Perhaps the best documented dragons come from the Chinese background. These characters are believed to be made of pieces from nine different animals: the body of a snake, talons of an eagle, antlers of a dear, head of a camel, belly of a clam, ears of a cow, soles of a tiger, 117 scales of a carp, and eyes of a demon. Dragons in Asian cultures are believed to be benevolent beings who command the water, including the rain, and have the power of change. In this sense, dragons are a force of mother nature and the universe as well as guard of Buddhist law. In this cultural system, dragons represent prosperity, fortune, and knowledge .

On the other hand, the Western dragons is considered as fearsome and ferocious. These dragons are like those Hercules battled and Beowolf waged war. In northern Europe, Thor battled the Jrmungandr (the World Serpent). West dragons are fierce creatures that guarded (and horded) treasure and that heroes would have to slay to protect helpless maidens (acts that often ended in matrimony). These were fire breathing dragons, more like the modern American dragons we are familiar today. Battles with these scary creatures became signs of the battle between good and bad.

There are even references to dragons in the Bible--in Revelations, the devil is referred to as the "great dragon." We've all heard the tales of people who have been transformed into dragons as punishment for their self-centeredness. And what about those that warn about children being devoured by dragons and claim that eclipses are also the result of the creatures' gluttonous appetites.

These days, dragons are the mark of power, of supernatural abilities, and of protection. People embellish their abodes and their bodies with figures of the mystic creatures. All types of dragons turn up in the movies from the good-natured imaginary buddy to violent foes. While we no longer talk about heroes battling dragons, the creatures are still prevalent in our culture, for better or worse.

90-94 Mitsubishi eclipse or eagle talon?

I'm thinking about buying a 90-94 Mitsubishi eclipse or eagle talon. With a 2.0 turbo maybe awd idk yet. I was wondering if anyone with one these cars can tell me about there mpg or problems they had with there cars.

problems, the motors blow up cuz they can't handle the boost from the turbo's very well. if you kep the bost down to 7-10 psi, u should b in good shape, but any higher then you better start moddin the motor to b able to handle the boost. they are sharp cars, and get the AWD and do it right if ur gonna do it. prolly 24-29 mpg
