SEIBON Carbon fiber hoods are known for two things.
- Excellent Quality
- Weight Reduction
SEIBON has earned a pretty good reputation, their parts are distributed by RAYS of Japan so they're well respected. You can even start to see them in Japanese car shows in magazines like Option.
Some of the other well known names in the after-market hood industry are VIS Racing, JSP, SEIBON, and TC Sportline. All of these companies produce great SEIBON Carbon Fiber Hoods which are sold in the United States and throughout the Internet and various car forums. The best place however is Google site, because it allows you to sort by brand, price, manufacturer, and even material like carbon kevlar bonnets for instance.
The light weight SEIBON carbon fiber hoods certainly weigh less than the stock steel OEM hood of a Mitsubishi 3000GT or a Dodge Neon. Stock factory cars are usually made of steel and have heavy body parts from the factory. Reduce the weight by up to 60 pounds with a cf bonnet and trunk, even more in some cases!
Race cars are sometimes entirely made out of CF composites, or carbon kevlar. Some of today's production high end cars are also purely Cf.
SEIBON Carbon Fiber hoods with vents can increase airflow or engine intake and intercooler. Aerodynamics can be improved upon with vented hood designs in tune with the body lines and curvature of your Mitsubishi Eclipse.
When you look at the Honda Civic hoods, make sure it's glossy and shiny. That's in part due to the UV protective layer is in the gelcoat. Make sure to buy a grade A, UV protected gel coat hoods, trunks and make sure it's from a well known manufacturer.
The Invader style cf hood is pretty wild, this design flows well with aggressive kits. The EVO design looks good on Mitsubishi cars, especially the EVO's and Mirages. The OEM is a good design for the Honda Civic 92-95 EG or for any non-turbo car that needs a light weight carbon hood.
You can get a cheap cf hood by sorting by price on an automotive website, this way the hoods that cost the least are sorted first so you can easily navigate through the cheaper models.

Turbo Car Vs Non-Turbo Car
Turbo performance and technology has evolved over time making the problems of unreliable, poor drivability and turbo lag a thing of the past. Properly changing your car with good parts selection and engine system would lead to a high performance street car or track car. It is not always recommended that just about anyone or everyone changes his or her car. There are some cars that are not meant to be converted into a turbo car and would perform better as a non-turbo car. Some cars that do not make good conversion projects are non-turbo cars but have a turbo version readily available from their manufacturer. Prime examples are Nissan 300ZX, Mitsubishi 3000 GT and the Eclipse. These cars are better off staying non-turbo and if you want these converted to a turbo version, its much simpler to purchase the readily available turbo version rather than trying to convert a non-turbo model into a turbo model.
With that aside, there are a lot of things to remember and to work on when converting a non-turbo car to a turbo car. Let us take this part-by-part. First off of course is the engine. The engine would take a lot of heat and pressure once turbocharged, so it is best to make sure to adjust the compression level that is manageable by the engine otherwise engine wear will increase significantly. Depending on where the car would be used you should determine if you need to replace something in your block. If it were for standard road use the boost would be just fine. However, if it is for track use then that would be different and you would want to install a steel shim gasket. When it comes to fuel management, it is important that the car is fuel injected already before turbo charging it. Then, forged pistons are ideal for a turbocharged car, which could be very expensive. The alternative to this is to use a factory turbo charged equivalent piston if there is an available one.
A turbo charged car is certainly a good project to undertake and it would surely deliver. The turbo performance of a turbo performance car is greater than a non-turbo charged car but there are some things to consider first before undertaking such a task. First if your car is a good conversion project, then the cost of turbo charging is very high. Parts and labour do not come cheap especially in this kind of project. Then there is the problem of having all the parts readily available or affordable to properly convert the car; remember that not all engines and cars have the same conversion process. Depending on the type of car you may need to have certain parts custom made.

make a 1996 eclipse non turbo faster?
i have a 1996 non turbo 2.0 eclipse. how can i make my eclipse faster without swaping engine, i have intake, headers and exaust system. what else can make me move faster that i will notice a difference?
Go to the souce of it all www.2gnt.com
Check out the power stages faq
http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=Power%20Stages
This will give you specific stages to help you determine how fast you want to go.
As for your other suggestions i wouldn't agree with them. You have to start with maintenance to get your car back up where it was when it was new. Also the ignition system and everything else can support the extra power.
Do a compression test to make sure you are getting the most out of your motor.

My buddy even did a writeup on how to turbo the 2nd gen non turbo (420a) eclipse.
http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=GSGoinFast%20Turbosystem
You can google 420a turbo or search ebay for 420a, there are a lot of parts out there for your car.
The 420a is extremely easy to turbo, just make sure you do your research before you attempt it.
