Straight exhaust, duals. will silencer in the tips keep it somewhat quite?

So im getting duals put on my 04 Impala LS. it has the 3.8 series II engine. the best way ive decided to do it is take the muffler out, split the exhaust with a Y pipe. so no muffler, straight exhaust. i know this will make it real loud.. i want a little rumble on it, but i dont want it to sound like an AutoZone euro pipe. Im going with 2 to 2.5 inch tips. will using the silencer in the tips quite it down? or would it be best to use the tips with the smaller mufflers attatched to them?

Just know that if anyone asks if you have twice pipes (dual exhaust) you don't. Splitting the pipe is just a trick to make it look like something it's not. If you're gonna do it this way, put a Flowmaster muffler after the Cat, then split your pipes and get some tips to polish it off.
The resonator tips you're asking about are designed to eradicate the buzzing sound (resonating) from certain high flow systems.
